ECHOES OF
GRACE.
Stories of how worship has moved through AFLEWO, told by the people who were there.
Nairobi · 2004
September 2004, CITAM Karen
The First Altar
A group of Sing Africa alumni from Daystar University called the church of Nairobi to one night of worship. There was no major publicity, just word of mouth and pulpit announcements. Around 6,000 people showed up. Reverend Tom opened the night with 'Holy Spirit.' Paul Kiihu, who had written AFLEWO's founding strategy document the year before, chaired the event as its first leader.

Rwanda · 2011
November 2011, Christian Life Assembly, Kigali
AFLEWO Rwanda
AFLEWO Rwanda was the first chapter outside East Africa's Swahili coast - a deliberate push toward Francophone Africa. The founding event was held in November 2011 at Christian Life Assembly (CLA), Nyarutarama, Kigali. Rwanda was chosen not just as a geographic expansion but as a statement: this movement belongs to the whole continent, including its French-speaking nations.

Mombasa · 2008
2008 – Present, JCC Bamburi Centre
AFLEWO Mombasa
AFLEWO Mombasa was founded in 2008, beginning with just eleven pastors at its first gathering. It grew steadily into one of the most pastor-attended chapters in the movement - by 2020 drawing 115 to 120 pastors to its annual events. The chapter is known for an active prayer culture, running regular nightly prayer sessions at JCC Bamburi Centre.
